Cold weather got the best of you? Skin feeling a little drab? During colder months, our skin tends to become dehydrated, dry, chapped, and sometimes even cracked. Cool temperatures, wind, and all that dry indoor heat all contribute to water evaporating from the skin and leaving it feeling tired and dehydrated. Here are four key steps to getting great holiday-ready radiant skin during the winter months:
1. Cleanse with something gentle...
Switch to a cleanser that's gentle and won't dry your skin out. Opt for milk, oil or even cream cleansers if you have normal to dry skin. 2. Exfoliate. On the regular.

3. Take it easy on the hot showers.
We know, we know, there is nothing more comforting than taking a long hot shower, especially in the cold, but this can wreak havoc on your skin. They dry the skin out and can also cause lead to itchy skin and redness. Experts say hot water is also a big no-no for breakouts and acne as it can inflame the situation and make it worse! 4. Moisturising is your friend!
Try to moisturize your skin at least twice a day. The best time to do this is immediately after a shower or bath or at least within half an hour. Believe it or not, water dehydrates skin, so it's really important to replenish skin's moisture levels after coming in contact with water. Thick, rich creams and oils are best for moisturizing and maintaining the skin's protective barrier.
